Welcome to Blackglove.
Hi I’m Michael and Blackglove is my portfolio, blogging and experimentation site. Here you’ll find examples of my work, information on projects I’m currently working on and just things that interest me. I’m a professional IT developer, and have been programming since my first ‘BASIC’ (forgive me) program back on a C64.
My professional career to date has provided me with broad experience, ranging from computational physics through to managing and implementing application development. In addition I have been exposed to extensive client contact in the areas of project management and requirements elicitation, and have also acquired significant experience in technical writing by providing written system documentation and user manuals.
These days I specialise in flash as3/as2, web technologies (including js, php, asp, & jsp) and c/c++ application development. I even dabble in system administration for a few companies. Having grown up in this industry I have been exposed to just about every aspect of the field, from mobile phone and embedded device development to the more exposed web technologies.
I believe in standards, code reusability and open source and I take pride in producing simple and elegant solutions to coding problems.
10 years experience in program development, management and implementation. Responsibilities include extensive client interface involving the proposal, specification, and finalization of projects.
